One mission of the OEDECPTA is to bring some cheer to the neighborhood by providing meals for our neighbors in their time of need. Whether it is for a new baby, an illness, hospital stay, or whatever may be the case, we want to make sure that our friends and neighbors are seen and taken care of. You will be alerted that a Meal Train has been started for a family via Facebook and email. This is a great chance for us to get to know each other and bless one another in our little community. If you know a neighbor who has given birth or is going through a hardship and they could use this service, please contact Robin Cook either via Facebook or email at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will get it going.
Are you interested in volunteering at our neighborhood school? Volunteers make a real difference in the lives of children at Lipscomb, and there are multiple ways one can help. Possibilities include tutoring, participating in special events such as reading to classes on Dr. Seuss Day, making copies, helping with the learning garden, and sharing your specific skill set in some way. The PTA puts on a number of events to engage families, support teachers, and fund large projects, and we're grateful for help with all sorts of things from designing posters, to donating needed items, to attending our annual silent auction.
Getting started is easy! Simply head to https://dallasisd.voly.org/ to complete the background check and online orientation; it just takes one minute. From there, contact Lora Owens at email@example.com to let me know how you'd like to help.
It truly takes a village, and we are incredibly grateful for support from neighbors like you!
